WHO WE ARE
We are Rodney & Jodi Gehman, professional artists and life-celebrators! We grew up 950 miles apart, and met in Ohio at the Bible College we were attending. We eventually fell in love over many games of volleyball and ping-pong, and knew that if this was going to work, we’d have to figure out how to swing the many miles between us. We dated long distance for 18 months before having the coolest outdoor wedding on the planet! Nowadays, we live in a small midwestern town in Iowa with our four young children, and a large part of our schedule includes shopping for groceries and diapers! We are passionate about our marriage, strong family values and our faith in Jesus Christ. When we get a spare moment, we enjoy browsing antiques, golfing, volleyball, playing music, and camping with the kids.
ABOUT GEHMAN PHOTOGRAPHY
Gehman Photography was founded in 2002, and has taken us and our cameras to Kansas, Florida, Alabama, Pennsylvania, Arizona, California, Mexico, Ghana Africa, Haiti, and just about every corner of Iowa. Each year we take time to invest in our education by attending various conventions, updating our equipment, and entering photographic competitions. At this moment, we’re an “in-home” operation, which translated literally means we work late every night after the kids go to bed, and consume large quantities of coffee!
We photograph high school seniors, families, children, and commercial work, but specialize in wedding photography, mainly because we believe in Love, and know that there is nothing more powerful on the planet. To be a part of that… to walk though it with a bride and groom, and to be trusted to capture it means the world to us. We take each wedding very seriously, and treat each event as though it’s our own, capturing it in the most creative and unobtrusive way we know how.
